Penetrating Densifier Sealant

Penetrating Densifier Sealant

A penetrating densifier sealant works from within the concrete slab, rather than on the surface where it can wear out. Penetrating lithium sealer increases the concrete strength and provides protection against dust, moisture penetration, surface abrasion, and general wear and tear sustained over time. Unlike a surface sealer, which is susceptible to peeling, cracking, or flaking, our sealers penetrate the surface in the initial application. Marvelous Ideas Contracting has been on the leading edge of concrete sealer applications and continues to provide high-quality finish products.

Benefits to Penetrating Densifier Sealant

Resilient Concrete

A concrete densifier is a chemical applied to a concrete surface in order to fill pores, increasing surface density. Chemical densifiers are used on polished and non-polished slabs to reduce dusting and wear; on polished concrete surface densifiers help concrete take a better polish and make the surface less permeable to liquids so the slab does not require sealing

By applying a concrete densifier you are permanently closing the pores in the concrete thus, in fact, hardening the concrete and making it stronger. We use a lithium-based sealer over traditional sodium silicates or potassium silicates sealers, that creates a stronger bond penetrating deeper into the concrete. Lithium silicates have the same chemical reaction that occurs naturally when concrete is first poured producing the molecule that holds the concrete together calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H). It’s this chemical reaction producing C-S-H that gives our lithium silicate sealer the advantage over others.

Cure times for our penetrating densifier applications are typically 1-2 hours vs. traditional sealers that take 6-24 hours.
